Our dog hates having a bath, it used to be a struggle trying to get him in and out of the bath without being snapped at or him running away.
When he got really dirty, like rolling in fox poo, we had to resort to having him tied to the washing line so that he wouldn’t run off and we washed him using a watering can.
This method was only ever any good in the Summer while it was nice and warm outside. We had to look for an alternative and that’s when we came across waterless shampoo which is a great substitute to keep your pet smelling sweet without the stress.
There are a few different types of waterless shampoo and I’m going to take you through a few of them here.
Dry Foam Shampoo For Dogs
I’ve been using this Dry Foam Shampoo For Dogs* made by Johnsons. It’s really easy to apply by simply squirting into your hand and applying to your dog’s coat then brush through.
It takes away the grease in your dog’s coat and leaves them smelling pleasantly fresh.
Dog Shampoo Powder
A dog shampoo powder* is simple to use, just like the foam it’s applied to the coat and then you brush through, however, it can be messy and may not be suitable for dogs with dense coats.
Dry Dog Shampoo Spray
With a dog shampoo spray*, you just spray on your dog, towel dry and then comb through.
I can’t use a spray because my dog is terrified of the sound of them, that’s why I much prefer the mousse because I can spray it into my hand out of his earshot and then walk over to him without it dripping everywhere.
